Well, that's a relief! The blue tsunami turned out to be real. Felon 47 torpedoed his agenda the day he attacked Iran. This will go down as one of the greatest debacles in American foreign policy. This should come as a surprise to no one. Decades and decades of Pentagon sponsored and ran war games all ended the same way, an American defeat. And to make matters worse over 150 people were killed when the US bombed a school just days into the conflict. Congratulations dumbasses! You just lost the war! That's bad enough, but it gets worse for the US. We demonstrated to our allies in the region that we can't defend them and are unreliable. Now add this to our on and off again support for Ukraine and it's easy to see why we have lost so much support around the world. Let's not forget the Greenland fiasco. Funny how threatening to invade an ali pushes other nations away. All of this has caused energy prices to soar, destabilized the global economy and moved the Doomsday Clock closer to midnight. But Americans don't care about that, any of it. Apparently, we only care about fuel prices and the cost of eggs.
It does not take a rocket scientist to see expensive diesel and gasoline makes everything else expensive. Americans always have and likely always will vote with their wallets. One did not need to look at the poles to guess the outcome of the midterm elections. A quick stop at your nearest gas station would suffice. High fuel prices are a death sentence to whichever party is in power. Sure, I would like to think all of the corruption, utter disregard for our constitution and norms, murders by federal agents on our own streets and yes, even concentration camps had something to do with the humiliating defeat of the Republican party in this election. I'm sure it did a little but most people here are too wrapped up in their own day-to-day worries to even consider the why’s and how's of global energy markets and geopolitics. Nonetheless, I'm happy with the outcome of the midterms here in ‘26. Only time will tell which Democratic Party shows up, the corporate Israel apologists or those who want real change.
I'm not a huge fan of the Democratic Party. They are still largely Pro US Empire, Pro Casino Capitalism and have hardly met a war they didn't like. They might just roll over and play dead substituting strongly worded letters for actual accountability. Some may want to reach across the aisle to continue the genocide in Palestine, keep the Epstein files hidden away because some of their own may get hurt and pretend ineffective greenwashing measures count for real solutions to climate change. This is where movements like No Kings come in. We cannot allow all the newly elected Democrats to squander this opportunity. We need to stay in the streets, stay loud and keep the pressure on for both accountability and reform. Those who have committed crimes should have their day in court and if guilty be held accountable. We need to reform the Supreme Court. No one should be above the law. Perhaps most importantly, we must protect the Vote. We need to outlaw gerrymandering nationwide and do all we can to make voting easier, accessible, free and fair.
I think we have the Democrats who are willing and able to put in the work but in the end, reform will be up to us. Don't let off the gas!
